Crochet Queens

Yes I am doing it, I signed up for 10 hats in the short time, yes of course I am behind but I do work really well under pressure so I might get finished, you never know.  On another note, did you notice I removed the message board/forum because no one was really using it plus it can be added back at another time.  I’m not getting any submissions this time around but no worries I won’t be closing down the doors just yet.  Most of you that really know me, know that I am full of CRAFT, hahahahaha so yes this means if I don’t get submissions I will just add my own CRAFT and I feel pretty sure that eventually I will get others CRAFT, it just takes time to catch on really.  It’s all good, right ????

Hey Everyone, don’t forget we are gearing up for the fall issue so if you have anything to submit now would be the time to do so.  Remember it is for a multi craft magazine so if it’s crafty, please submit it.  This is getting pretty exciting I can’t wait to see what all of you have been working on.  Sometimes I feel like I am just too nosey because I really get excited when I can read about what everyone else is doing….you know my Mom always said pay attention to what you are doing and quit worrying about everyone else…..well in the case I like worrying about everyone else, hahahahahahaha.

Yes it is that time again but I look forward to it. I will be taking submissions again so if you have some please submit them to me for the Fall issue. I will also be removing the forum as it seems no one really uses it so for now I will remove it but it can be put back up at a later date if the need arises. I figure there are so many forums and places to belong to that most of one really don’t want one more I know how you feel about that. Well for my neck of the woods, it is mid summer and we are almost ready for winter all ready, see we don’t have a heater we only use wood so we get our wood delivered (it is called rounds) and we split and stack. We are really getting better at it every year. I know last year it took us all summer to do it and this year we are about 80% finished YEAH.

On the crafty front, I am working on a pair of fingerless gloves, Spirogyra , out of Regia sock yarn and I am on the second glove, will take pictures with my new camera. Now remember if you have patterns to submit, please do so by the end of August.

I had the pure pleasure of going out to my new friends house and she has goats and 2 sheep.  Oh they were so cute and I really liked the goats alot.  I am thinking of getting angora goats but want to know more about them before I do, wouldn’t want to do something harmful to them, but oh I really enjoyed them.  They are really cute and cuddly and now I am really thinking of getting some, I like them.

I will be the first to admit, I am NOT the brightest crayon in the box but eventually I figure it out, hehehehe.  I have been doing several craft shows for the past 3 years, same ones every year and honestly I just can’t do them and online at the same time so since I do have alot more fun online, the craft shows had to go.  I did my last one this past weekend and I can’t tell you what a relief it really is to know I won’t be doing any more, WHEW.  Now I can concentrate more on this site and my other 2 sites and honestly I am more excited about that so I will go with it, right ??  I do have a few more submissions for the Fall issue but of course will take more and I am thinking that I will include several patterns for crocheted food, as that is what I am working on right now for my beautiful Grand Daughter, whom I adore.  I did notice there are not alot of patterns for it so I will put some up probably in the next issue so be sure to come back and look.

To all who celebrate…Happy 4th. We will be going down to the fair grounds to watch the big celebration. Hope you all will enjoy some fireworks and good food.

Sorry didn’t mean to just abandon you Been trying to get things done for July 12 & 13 plus in between all of that my son is in Amtgard and I helped sew approx 200 or more covers for swords, since they are a non profit group this is how they make their money. I am getting a little bit more excited as the web site is really getting alot of hits and of course more of you are inquiring on how to submit your designs, which makes me excited. I just love everything that all of you create and I must say there certainly are alot of very creative people out there. So remember if you have something you created, please do send it in, I am interested and I do want to see it. There has been some confusion as to how to send them in so I am going to have to think of something to make it much easier for all of you to send it in. I don’t want to put my email up because there are spam bots that can just come along and grab it and trust me I don’t want to be on their lists, drives me crazy and honestly I think that all that junk actually turns people off to buying from them, well I should say it turns me off and I never read any of it anyway. I have also been thinking seriously about deleting the forum as it seems it really isn’t used so if you have a moment, tell me what you think, I will go put up a poll on the front page. Well this is it for now.

I have to get ready for Art in the Park and although I do have the majority of my stuff made I need to make more so it is July 12 & 13 so I better get busy. I was having a ball making the crocheted food and can’t wait to give it to her. I made 6 oreo’s and will start on french fries as soon as I can.

Well so far I have made a Hamburger (bun top and bottom, meat, 2 tomatoes, slice of onion, lettuce) and I ‘m working on a hot dog , then after that I think I will make her a cake or cup cakes….awww why not both. And if it doesn’t get too complicated (so far none of it is terribly complicated) I will post the patterns in the next issue. So let me know, do you want crocheted food patterns ?

Yippeee Skipppeee I found my old word press theme, that I love. Of course I changed the page logo to Crochet Queens Craftaholic Adventures, which is exactly what it is. I am thinking that maybe I am just a stick in the mud and I liked the way my first blog looked so I was not happy with all the others, I am so glad to have found it again. It isn’t as fancy as the other one but I like this one, yes I have said that a bunch. Ok on to other things. I attended Knit in public and it was a great turn out met other crafty people, always a bunch of fun. I lost my mind, brought my camera and forgot to get the card that is needed to store pictures so I did not get any pictures but maybe twistedhausfrau will feel sorry for me and shoot a couple my way so I can post them. Hopefully we will all meet in the park every saturday, my son is in Amtgard and they meet in the park on saturday so we usually go and this is our break, so many things to do around here but I’m not complaining I enjoy having a yard and growing things. I have other things up my sleeve so stay tuned to see.
