Welcome to our very first multi craft ezine issue. We have a couple of things for you to make thanks to the generousity of some very talented people. My very first submission was from a great friend of mine who always believes in me when I need it. We all hope you enjoy this first issue and I hope it does encourage you to craft things. Boys Rifle Holder
Hook: H 1 6 oz skein of any worsted weight yarn
Stitch: Basket Weave (Front Post Double Crochet/Back Post Double Crochet 1st Row: Chain 4 and join with slip stitch to 1st stitch to form ring. 2nd Row: 2 Double Crochet (DC) in each stitch (8 DC) 3rd Row: 2 DC in each stitch (16 DC) 4th Row: 2 DC in each stitch (32 DC) 5th Row: 2 DC in each stitch (64 DC)
Row Begins holster: Chain 2 turn and then skip first DC and *work FPDC around the post of next 3 DC stitches. Work BPDC around post of next 3 DC stitches. Repeat from * across, HDC in top of Beginning chain. 6th Row: Decrease around evenly until 32 stitches remaining. 7th Row: DC around 8th Row: Ch 2 turn and *work FPDC around post of next 3 stitches and work BPDC around post of next 3 stitches and repeat from * across. hdc in top of beginning chain. 9th Row: Ch2 skip hdc and *work FPDC around the posts of next 3 sts and work BPDC around posts of next 3 stitches. Repeat from * across. Hdc in top of beginning chain. 10th & 11th Rows: Ch2, turn skip first hdc and *work BPDC around the post of the next 3 stitches then work FPDC around the post of the next 3 stitches; repeat from * across and hdc top of beginning chain. 12th Row: Repeat Row 9 13th Row: Repeat Row 9 – 12 for pattern until piece measures 13 inches from bottom. Slip stitch first 3 stitch, ch 1 turn.
Beginning Strap:
DC 6 stitches and continue to DC 6 stitches until Strap measures 10 ½ inches. Dart or bullet holders on strap. 1. SC across 6 stitches, ch 1 turn (6 sc) 2. SC across Ch 1 turn (6 sc) 3. DC in back loops 4. SC across 5. DC in each un worked back loops SC across Ch 1, sc in last stitch row. (2 rows above row being worked) ch 1 sc in last stitch of row above row being worked ch 1 turn. SC through 2 center loops of 4 loops now existing. Continue across. (You will crochet through back loops of row facing you and front loop of row furthest from you). Ending with 6 sc. Repeat 1-5 End and leave a long tail to sew on to holster.
Pocket:
Chain 12 DC 12 st. *FPDC first 3 posts BPDC next 3 posts continue across. Repeat Row 1. *BPDC first 3 posts, FPCD next 3 posts * continue across. Repeat Row 3 Repeat row 1-5 until pocket measures 5 inches or desired length. Sew pocket on front.
